At the beginning of 2019, as Epson opened two launch conferences in China and announced the opening of Epson print heads to the Chinese market, it officially opened the curtain for Epson print heads to enter the Chinese market in an all-round way. For more than two years, the Epson print head has been unanimously recognized by domestic equipment suppliers and users due to its unique technological advancement and its superiority in printing accuracy and speed. The usage rate of print heads ranks first in the advertising printing industry.
I3200 Series Print Head
I3200 series print head, it was called 4720 print head, EP3200 print head or EPS3200 print head. Now its formal name is I3200 series.
I3200 series print heads are industrial-grade print heads specially developed for large format printers that can be used in water based, thermal sublimation, thermal transfer, eco solvent, and UV ink applications. I3200 head size: 69.1 × 59.4 × 35.6mm (width * depth * height), effective printing width is 1.33 inches (33.8mm); 8 rows of nozzles 3200pcs; I3200 series currently includes I3200-A1 water based ink print head, I3200-E1 eco solvent head and I3200-U1 UV ink print head.
Compared with the previous desktop disassembly heads, the I3200 series print heads have further improvements in ink circuit design, board driver matching, print head’s unique PrecisionCore technology, VSDT variable ink drop technology, high resolution, high durability and other technologies. It is improved in performance, so that it can freely control the ejected ink droplet size, the screen has fine graininess, smooth color transition, and high saturation.
At present, the I3200-A1 head is widely used in sublimation, textile printing and latex environmental protection, corrugated box printing and other fields. The I3200-E1 eco solvent ink print head is used in outdoor large format printers and inkjet printers. I3200-U1 is mostly used on UV flatbed printer and UV roll to roll printers.
F1440 Print Head
F1440 has 1440pcs nozzles. It is the DX5 or 5th generation head. However, its current official name is F1440. At present, F1440 has the first model of A1, it is an entry level industrial print head specially developed for large format digital printing indoor and outdoor eco solvent printers. Its dimension is 106 x 49.7 x 41.7mm (width * depth * height), printing width: 25.4mm; 8 rows of nozzles 1440pcs. F1440 is mostly used in high speed eco solvent printers.
L1440 Print Head
L1440 has 1440pcs nozzles as well, it is DX7 or 7th generation head.
The size of L1440 is 60.4 x 46.9 x 71.1mm (width * depth * height), effective printing width is 25.4mm; total 8 rows of nozzles 1440pcs; L1440 can output multi-color, 4 colors and 8 colors output at one head; when multi-head splicing, it can save space and print when the movement distance of the nozzle is reduced, the production capacity is increased. It uses advanced MACH technology, and has made more attempts and improvements in the process printing scenes of boards, inks, materials, etc. There are currently two models: L1440-A1 and L1440-U2. At present, it is widely used in the fields of UV roll to roll printers, hybrid printers, powder film printers, textile thermal transfer and thermal sublimation.
F1080 Industrial Print Head
F1080 is currently available with an A1 water based print head. It is the XP600, EP1080, or 6th generation head. The size of F1080 is 84.9 x 57.2 x 42.6mm (width * depth * height), effective printing width 25.4mm; a total of 6 rows of nozzles 1080pcs. F1080-A1 is currently the mainstream application in the market for indoor and outdoor eco solvent printing machines.
The above printheads are the print head series most frequently used by users and they are also the print head series that Epson enjoys a high market share. In addition, the S3200 series and S1600 series launched by Epson in recent years have also seized a lot of advertising UV printing market and digital printing textile market. As of January 2021, Epson has launched 6 series and 10 models in the Chinese market. They are S3200 series (2 models), S1600 series (1 model), I3200 series (3 models), and F1080 series ( 1 model), L1440 series (2 models), F1440 series (1 model). In the future, under the premise of cooperating well with the existing print head market applications, Epson will open more print heads that meet the needs of users according to market needs to meet application development in different fields.
